I illustrate books, songs, and dreams, always in pursuit of Beauty that lifts the soul. I also enjoy writing and illustrating my travel impressions. My art has a strong cognitive drive, often beginning as research into a topic; but then once I’ve completed a project, I find new information inside it that was not part of my plan, a psychic connection to a larger whole. The topics I approach share the collective identity of fairy tales: my artistic mission is to promote the true fairy tale tradition, against the abuses perpetrated in history through racism, colonialism or religion. If I did not have my art, I would believe the notion that inside my head there is a battle between reason and emotion, and I would feel obligated to fuel the misery arising from such conflicting states. There has, in truth, never been a conflict: Love is not a feeling but an action, inspiring the rebellion that helps liberate the mind from within.
