CERAMICS
Phoenix Feathers, Est. 2011
Handcrafting distinctive porcelain gifts was my inaugural venture into the world of art as a profession. During this period, I began to explore strategies to reduce my environmental impact through creative upcycling: I sourced blank or faded porcelain from nearby charity shops and estate clearances, harnessed solar energy to fuel my firing kiln, and prioritised selling my creations locally.
Phoenix Feathers makes use of bright colours, earthy tones and golden accents to layer new stories that evoke a sense of mystery. Each hue is deliberately chosen to enhance the narrative: shades of blue evoke traditional crafts. the earthy tones ground the piece in natural beauty, while the golden accents symbolise hope and renewal, mirroring the mythical journey of the phoenix rising from its ashes.
